I will start by telling you that we are a team of three: Inés, Juanjo and our beloved van "Lupita", we are passionate about going out to visit the island and explore all its nooks, we are in love with its people, its landscapes and traditions. And we are excited to show, to anyone who wants it, all the wonders that are hidden in our "small continent" the island of Gran Canaria.
We have made a route through our own experience, it is a privilege to have been born here and after 42 years enjoying the island for ourselves we know it is time to enjoy it with you. Without commercial stops.
After having picked you up we will leave Maspalomas towards the center of the island. The first stop will be at the viewpoint of Degollada de las Yeguas where we can enjoy spectacular views of the entire south of the island and an incredible view of the entire Fataga Ravine. Our next stop will be in Tunte (aboriginal name that is given to the current San Bartolomé de Tirajana) a town full of charm and anteroom of the most sacred place for the aborigines of the time: the emblematic Roque Nublo, considered one of the highest of the world, volcanic source and 67 meters high. We will walk up (1.5 km) to it and enjoy a magical moment impossible to explain with words.
The time for lunch arrives and for this we will go to "Las Mesas" picnic area; a place perfectly conditioned to take a typical and homemade food prepared by our own hands, an outdoor picnic as the locals like.
With a full belly we will visit the highest point of the island: Pico de las Nieves (1,956 m) where you can see some of the most representative views of Gran Canaria and the most spectacular of the Canaries in general.
The moment comes to descend towards the coast and for this we will take the GC-130 from which we will be able to observe impressive cliffs and enjoy an incredible variety of native flora and fauna until arriving at Agüimes, a town located in the interior of the Guayadeque ravine, that offers several leisure alternatives to its visitors, whether walking through its historic center, its green areas and natural landscapes, or sharing the various cultural activities that take place throughout the year.
And from the mountain we will go to the sea. We will arrive at Faro de Arinaga; built in 1897 to mark the two most dangerous geographical features of the eastern section of the coast: the tip of Tenefé and the low point of Gando; and where we can walk and observe firsthand the impact of the wild coasts of the Atlantic Ocean.
And like any good show we will end up toasting on the top of the Maspalomas dunes to celebrate the incredible day in which we toured and enjoyed one of the most beautiful islands of the Canary archipelago: the island of Gran Canaria.
